Notice of VAT effective from Aug.01
Dear Valued Customers,
In a joint circular CAI SHUI [2013] No.37 (Circular 37) Notice on Tax Policy Concerning Nationwide Implementation of VAT (value-added tax) Pilot Program for Transportation and Modern Services Sectors (the Notice), the Ministry of Finance and State Administration of Taxation further clarified the tax policy is to be rolled out nationwide on August 1st, 2013. In addition, the Notice states that the relevant tax policies for initial pilots will be repealed on Aug. 1, 2013
With the implementation of the Notice, COSCO Container Lines Co. Ltd. would like to announce that from 1st August, 2013, a VAT of 6% and other supplementary taxes related to VAT, where applicable, will be applied for all the ocean freight and charged payable in the P R China, which are settled through COSCO Container Lines’ authorized agents.
We are closely monitoring all events related to the above mentioned policies and will inform you of any future change.
